Healthy homemade chocolate granola

This is the chocolate version of my Healthy chocolate homemade granola. To understand the ingredients and method in full, please click over to the original recipe and have a read through it before starting on this one.
Important note: The ingredients below are enough to change a third of the original recipe into chocolate granola. If you wish to make the whole amount of the original recipe chocolate, please multiple the amounts below BY THREE.
Chocolate granola modification
The chocolate modification of the original recipe is super easy. I usually follow the recipe for the standard version up until all the ingredients are mixed together and would be otherwise ready to be popped onto the baking pan and then into the oven (that is, up until point 6 in the method for the original recipe).
At that point, I separate the mixture into two bowls – one has about two thirds and the other about a third of the standard mixture. This is just because I like to eat the standard version of the granola with some chocolatey granola on the top but feel free to change the ratio however you like. You will need to adjust the amounts stated below accordingly.
The mixture from the bigger bowl (two thirds of the standard mixture) goes into one baking pan and just sits then until I make up the chocolate granola.

Chocolate granola ingredients
The ingredients set out below are enough to change a third of the original recipe into chocolate granola. If you wish to make the whole amount of the original recipe chocolate, please multiple the amounts below BY THREE.
- 2 heaped tsp of organic cacao powder
- 2 tbsp cold pressed sweet almond oil, or any other neutral flavoured cold pressed oil
- 1-1.5 tbsp maple syrup
Method
- Mix the chocolate granola ingredients together in a small jug or bowl.
- If you’re making both the original and the chocolate granola, pour the mixture into the second bowl which contains a third of the standard granola mix (the smaller one).
- Mix everything together until nice and chocolatey.
- If you’re making both the original and the chocolate granola, put the mixtures into separate baking pans.
- Bake both pans in the oven at 150C for 20-25 minutes.
- Yum!
